Wolf of the Month-Itzel Perez

Story image 1_0

Itzel is a 14-year old 8th grader on the High Honor Roll and a straight A student. Itzel names Mrs. Sue Terrell, Mrs. Sherri Ramseier, and Mrs. Kristi Minor as her favorite teachers. When asked about her favorite classes, Itzel said she most enjoys Business, Math, and Language Essentials. Some of Itzel’s hobbies and interest outside of school include, “spending time with family and listening to music.” Itzel looks up to her parents, Gloria and Humberto, as her role models stating, “My parents do so much for my brothers and I. They have helped me become who I am.”
When asked to discuss an accomplishment that she is proud of, Itzel responded, “I am proud to have earned straight A’s because it reminds me what I am able to accomplish if I put my mind to it.” Itzel shared that a ‘Fun-Fact’ about herself is that, “Some people call me Smiley because I smile a lot.” Itzel was asked to discuss her future and stated, “I plan to attend college and become a nurse.” Itzel’s advice to her fellow students is, “Work hard for what you want and don’t give up.”
On naming Itzel ‘Wolf of the Month’, Mr. Johnson states, “Itzel is thriving in the classroom, where she has high A’s in all of her classes. In speaking with many of Itzel’s teachers, not only are they impressed with her academic ability and work-ethic, but even more so they appreciate her amazing attitude and good-natured personality. The first thing that comes to mind for me when discussing Itzel it her big, constant smile. I’m sure Itzel occasionally faces the same frustrations and obstacles that life throws at all of us. However, without fail, each and every day Itzel shows up to school with a big smile on her face and a can-do attitude. You are doing a great job Itzel and I cannot wait to see what the future has in store for you! Congratulations on being named Student of the Month and keep up the awesome work!” Submitted by Myles Johnson, Superintendent
