Wolf of the Month-Kagen Hoyda

Kagen is an 18-year-old Senior and Honor Roll student. Kagen’s favorite subject is History and he names Mrs. Cindy Soehner as his favorite teacher.  Outside of school, Kagen enjoys hanging out with friends and helping his stepdad out around the ranch and farm. Kagen names his older brother (Tennison) as his role model and states, “My brother pushes me to do my best.” Kagen shared that a “Fun-Fact” about himself is, “I’ve always like Batman – in fact, I think I could be Batman.”

When asked to discuss an accomplishment that he is proud of, Kagen responded, “Making it to State in Basketball my Senior season was a huge accomplishment for us - we have been dreaming of that for 4 years. When asked to discuss a future goal, Kagen stated, “I hope to graduate college and eventually run my own mechanic shop.”  A piece of advice Kagen offers the underclassmen is, “If you are not willing to give 100% effort into something, don’t do it at all. Also, have fun in high school because it goes by fast.”

Mr. Johnson states, “Kagen is a really great kid who brings so much positive energy to our school. I think a lot of our students, from High School all the way to elementary, are drawn to Kagen’s personality and ability to connect to people.  Throughout his time at Idalia, Kagen has been heavily involved in extra-curriculars, from athletics to FFA and FBLA and many other organizations.  He has been an Honor Roll student throughout High School and Kagen’s teachers appreciate his effort, and also his ability to keep class fun and energetic.  We will certainly miss Kagen and all the positive contributions he has made to our school and community throughout the years.  You have an incredibly bright future and we wish you the best of luck! Congrats Kagen!
