Wolf of the Month-Tarek Glanz

Tarek is an 18-year-old Senior and Honor Roll student. Tarek’s favorite subjects are Science and English and he lists Mrs. Cindy Soehner and Mr. Weirich as his favorite teachers.  Some of Tarek’s hobbies and interests outside of school include basketball, going to concerts with friends, Youth Group, and watching sports with his dad. Tarek names his grandparents as his role models and states, “My Grandparents are the most loyal and understanding people I know.  I aspire to be like them.” Tarek shared that a “Fun-Fact” about himself is, “I am a huge sports fanatic.  In my free time you will either see me up at the school gym shooting or at home watching sports.”

When asked to discuss an accomplishment that he is proud of, Tarek responded, “Last year I tore my ACL and meniscus during the first football game of the season.  I worked really hard to rehab by knee and ended up coming back to play the last three basketball games of the season.”  When asked to discuss a future goal, Tarek stated, “I hope to play basketball in college and pursue a business degree.”  A piece of advice Tarek offers to his classmates is, “Be respectful of your peers because what goes around comes around.”

Mr. Johnson states, “Tarek is a great kid and one of the leaders of our school.  He is always extremely friendly and polite and behaves on a daily basis in a manner that makes him a great leader by example for our younger kids.  He is doing a great job in the classroom and maintains Honor Roll status and is heavily involved outside of the classroom in activities such as athletics and Youth Group to name just a few examples.  All of his teachers and coaches appreciate his positive attitude and friendly demeanor.  Congratulations Tarek and keep up the good work! You are a great addition to our school and community.”
